Dear friends of Kakitangan.com 1. Enforcement of Amendments to the Employment Act 1955 The amendments of the Employment Act 1955 are confirmed to be enforced on 1 Jan 2023 (no more deferment! Read more here). A quick refresh on some items amended (not full list) and required your action to update your settings (or if you have not started using Kakitangan.com yet, better start today to stay compliant): a) Maternity Leave increased from 60 days to 98 days; b) Paternity Leave available to Married Husband for 7 consecutive days; c) Reduction of working hours from 48 hours per week to 45 hours per week; d) Hospitalisation leave is now isolated from Sick Leave; e) Overtime payment is now available to employees earning RM4,000 and below (previously was capped at RM2,000 and below); |

The system will be amended accordingly for new accounts created on/after 1 Jan 2023. For existing accounts, you may need to make changes. 3. 2023 New Year system initialization New Year system initialization - by 31 Dec Midnight, we will set the system into the maintenance mode and initialize for many companies’ new year refresh. It will be back up on 2 Jan 2022. Also please note that by first 1-2 working days of the year, historically many people come in and apply for leaves. While we will add many dozens of servers in, there may be experience of slowness. But it will be cleared very soon – so suggest not to put any important things such as Payroll operations on the first 2 days of the new year.
