1. New Year System Initialization for 2025

 

New year system initialization – by 31 Dec 2024 Midnight, we will set the system into maintenance mode and initialize for many companies’ new year refresh. It will be back up on 2nd Jan 2025.

 

Please note that by first 1 – 2 working days of the year, historically many people come in and apply for leaves. While we will add many dozens of servers in, there may be experiences of slowness, but it will be cleared very soon. So, suggest not putting any important things such as Payroll operations on the first 2 days of the new year. 

 

2. New Feature - Organization Chart

 

We’re excited to roll out new features - Organization Chart that make navigating your company’s structure even easier. Colleagues can view basic information like name, department, position in the org chart.

 

Rest assured, sensitive personal or employment data will remain private and only accessible to those with the right permissions. For those who want to make it easier for colleagues to get in touch, team members can now check email and phone number (depending on the setting) through their profile.

 

 

Simply head over to User > Org Chart to view your company's organization chart. 

 

 3. Minimum Wage Order 2024

 

The Minimum Wage Order 2024 was gazetted and it will come into force in two stages:

 

1) 1 February 2025: the minimum monthly wages of RM1,700 will apply to the following employers:

 

  • Employers who have five employees or more; and
  • Employers categorized as conducting professional activities under the Malaysia Standard Classification of Occupations 2020 ("MASCO Employers") regardless of the number of employees they have.

 

2) 1 August 2025: the minimum monthly wages of RM1,700 will apply to ALL employers regardless of number of employees. 

 

 

How will this affect you as an employer?

 

This requirement is applicable to all employers in Malaysia.

 

If you fall under the stage 1 category above, then you need to ensure the following are in order:

 

  1. Review all employees' salary to ensure their minimum wage is at least RM1,700.
  2. If you are paying employees on daily or hourly basis, make sure the minimum wage is as follows:

 

 

If your employee is not paid on a basic salary but is paid a salary only based on piecework, tonnage, assignment, journey or commission, the monthly salary rate payable to the employee shall not be less than the current monthly minimum salary of RM1,700.

 

What is your next action?

 

  1. On your Kakitangan.com's account, go to Users page, review each employee's Compensation to see if their Salary is at least RM1,700;
  2. Another faster way, that you may also click on "Export Team Data" on Users page and check on the Salary column in the excel file;
  3. If you are paying a fixed OT rate, ensure your hourly rate (before multiplying 1.5/2.0/3.0) is at least RM8.72.

 

Once you have done all of the above, the salary calculation and OT calculation will be automated (via Hadir E Attendance module) and

5. Physical Events for January 2025

a) Kakitangan.com Community Series - Tips on EA form preparations and PDPA Act Amendments

 

2025 is coming in less than a week's time, that means employers will need to prepare employee's EA form soon. 

 

  • Have you been running their payroll on monthly basis? 
  • Do you have any part time staff worked during the year? 
  • Is there any faster way to generate EA form?

 

The PDPA Act has been amended recently and now you must appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPA). How are you holding up on this matter?
