Kakitangan.com Open Day 2025 — Highlights, Insights & What’s Next
The two-day Kakitangan.com Open Day 2025 has officially wrapped up, and what an incredible turnout it was! Held on 15 & 16 October 2025 at WORQ, KL Sentral. The event brought together HR professionals, business owners, and payroll managers to exchange real-world knowledge, explore digital tools, and strengthen their understanding of compliance and people management.
2 Days of Learning, Connection, and Practical Takeaways
From live system demos to expert-led HR sessions, Open Day 2025 was all about empowering Malaysian businesses to simplify HR and payroll processes.
Participants got a closer look at how to manage payroll, leave, claims, and attendance through one seamless platform while also hearing valuable advice from our HR Sifus on topics like termination, industrial relations, and the impact of non-compliance.
The hybrid setup ensured everyone, whether onsite or online, could participate equally, making this our most inclusive Open Day yet.
KWSP’s Special Session: Clearing the Air on the 2% EPF Contributions for Foreign Workers
One of the biggest highlights was KWSP’s official session on “2% EPF Foreign Workers Contribution.”
Employers and HR teams gained direct insights from En. Ahmad Bin Mohd Idris (Labour Advisory Officer from KWSP) on how the new 2% EPF contribution rule impacts businesses, alongside compliance examples and clarifications for 2025. The session drew high engagement and questions, showing how important this update is for the HR community.
Topics and Sessions Recap
This year’s Open Day brought together an outstanding lineup of speakers who shared practical insights to help HR professionals and business owners elevate their people strategies. Greg Meehan, CEO of Gregory Meehan Consulting, opened minds with his talk “Think Help, Not Sell”, reminding businesses that genuine problem-solving builds stronger, more sustainable relationships than traditional selling ever could.
Richard Wong, Founder of Vistage Malaysia and CEO Coach, inspired participants to rethink their approach to hiring and promotions in his session “How to Enhance Success in Recruiting or Promoting the Right Candidates in the Right Positions?” — an exploration of how leadership psychology and structured evaluation can shape high-performing teams through PAEI profiling tool.
Kakitangan.com’s own Customer Success team, represented by Felicia Soo, Hazlan, and Amir, delivered highly engaging sessions on Common Payroll Challenges and a Live System Demo, showing how digital integration streamlines payroll, leave, claims, and attendance management while ensuring statutory compliance.
The spotlight also fell on HR Sifu YK Lai, who tackled Termination and Performance Management, providing guidance on handling difficult HR cases with fairness and professionalism, while Nizam Shari, another HR Sifu with over 20 years of experience, addressed the Implication of Non-Compliance and Lack of Training, emphasizing the financial and reputational risks of neglecting employee and employer obligations.
The learning continued with Janice Teoh, Learning & Performance Manager at 1Training, who shared practical strategies in “Beyond Training: Building a Culture Where People Love to Learn”, and Mohammed Zahin Bin Mohd Yusof, Head of Working Professional Programmes at INTI University, who presented “Future-Ready Pathways: Upskilling for Working Professionals”, highlighting how continuous education can future-proof Malaysia’s workforce.
For attendees seeking deeper, situation-specific advice, both HR Sifus — YK Lai and Nizam Shari — held private 1-on-1 consultation sessions, allowing participants to discuss their organisation’s HR issues confidentially and receive personalised guidance tailored to their company’s context.

Payroll 101: Fixing Underperformance — Performance Management Tools & PIP for Employees
Employee underperformance isn’t always about lack of skill, often, it’s a sign of unclear goals, weak communication, or unstructured follow-up. This upcoming session focuses on helping HR professionals, business owners, and managers identify root causes of poor performance and turn it into measurable improvement instead of frustration or turnover.
